Select your data
- General area: Choose U.S. total, any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. For Indiana-specific data, choose Indiana counties, regions, metros or custom regions.
- Specific geography: Choose the state total or specific county data for any of the 50 states. Or choose an Indiana region, metro or custom region.
- Year: Click on an individual year. To select multiple years, click on each year desired while holding down the CTRL key.
- Month: Choose "current" to display the most recently available month, an individual month, annual average or all months.
- Item: Choose labor force, employment, unemployed or unemployment rate.
Additional data options
- Make a custom region: Build a custom region of Indiana counties here, or click on the 'Custom Region' link in the upper right corner of the query bar to get to the region creation page.
- Standard option: Access the standard labor force data without any of the following data options.
- Graphing: Choose between graphing data or the result of calculations such as montly change. Graphs are only shown where appropriate.
- Ranks: Ranks are simply a numbering of the results returned. Ranks do not include data not shown. For example, to get a rank of a county among counties you must select all counties.
- Calculations: Selecting a calculation will add a column to the results showing the desired calculation. For '% of State (U.S.) if you select a county or region, you will get a percent of state, otherwise you will get a percent of the U.S. All calculations can be graphed if desired.
- Data Grouping This option allows regions to be shown as a group, or as individual counties. This option automatically changes when the geography type changes.
Choose your output
- Web Version: Follow the steps above, then press "get data."
- Excel Output: Check MS Excel Output box. Then click the "get data" button to download the spreadsheet.
- Paper Version: Be sure to use the print button on the page and not the browser’s print functionality since this page uses frames.
