About Information for Indiana (IFI)
Working with the State of Indiana, the IFI Initiative seeks to improve the collection, management and dissemination of data so that policymakers, researchers and anyone interested in the facts can actually get the data they need in the form they require. This project has support and leadership from the Office of the Governor and has been implemented by the Indiana Business Research Center with early assistance for key research components by the Center for Urban Policy and the Environment.
We’ve developed an inventory of key state agency-collected data, including information on the variables, collection forms, computer platforms and other information critical to developing procedures to actually obtain the data and transform it into meaningful statistics. The outcome is substantially more data available and accessible to users.
Examples of STATS Indiana data sets the public can now use as a result of Information for Indiana include:
- Property parcel data
- Real estate sales disclosures
- Business incorporation filings
- Sales and income tax data
- Expanded TANF data
